The Business of Film: Marketing & Distribution

This final workshop will cover methods for distributing and marketing your film. Students will understand the impact of the Internet and mobile technology on the financial and distribution architecture as well as the effect of direct and hybrid models of film releasing. By reviewing current trends in the industry you will be able to determine what channel/s may be most effective for your film depending on the make-up of your intended audience. Once distribution is covered you will learn how the industry creates awareness for a film. The latest trends will be explained, including use of social media, promotional methods. The importance of film festivals and film markets around the globe will be discussed. Finally, you will learn how to create a marketing budget for your film.
